How do I find specific items?

The easiest way to find what you are looking for is to enter the title, author, keyword or ISBN in the Search field above the navigation menu. You can also enter any combination of the author and title. For example, entering "Clancy October" will find The Hunt for Red October by Tom Clancy. If you only know a few words of the title, but not necessarily their order, type in what words you do know to generate results.

How do I place an order?

Once you've found the item you wish to purchase, click the "Add To Cart" button. This will place the item in your shopping cart. When you are ready to check out, simply click the "Proceed To Checkout" button below the list of items in your Shopping Cart. Follow the online prompts that will take you through the account setup process and then submit your order.

When will my credit card be charged?

Booksamillion.com only charges for orders when the order ships. When you go through the checkout process, we do have a final step that "pre-authorizes" the charge to your credit card. If this pre-authorization fails when you attempt to submit your order, you will get a billing error message that will prompt you to recheck your billing and credit card number information or enter an alternate credit card before you can actually submit the order.

I purchased a Millionaire's Club Discount Card in a store. Can I use it online?

Club Card Absolutely! During the checkout process, you will be asked if you have a Millionaire's Club Card. Simply enter your card number and click the "Apply Card Number" button. Your club card number is the 10-digit number that appears below the barcode on the back of the card. Cards are valid for one year after the purchase date.

How does Booksamillion.com differ from Books-A-Million retail stores?

Booksamillion.com operates separately from Books-A-Million retail stores, featuring different retail items and pricing. Other differences include shipping costs, delivery time, item availability, and taxes. How do I check the status of my order?

To view your current account information and to check on the status of your orders, click My Account at the top right portion of any page. After you enter your email address and password you will be able to view your account summary. You'll see your most recent orders and their current status, such as "Pending" or "Completed." If you have further questions regarding your order, you can always call our Customer Service team at 1-800-201-3550.

How do I change my email address or password?

Changing your email address and password is easy! Simply go into My Account and modify your email address or password under Personal Settings.

Why am I getting a form error when entering my email address and password?

Generally, a form error appears when a password doesn't match the password we have on file for that email address. Even if you have never placed an order with us, if you previously entered a password and email address, our system will "lock in" that combination. Try entering the first attempted password in the first field as if you were a "returning" customer rather than a "new" customer. If this doesn't work for you, please call our Customer Support Desk at 1-800-201-3550 for further assistance.

How long will it take to receive my order?

That depends on item availability and the shipping method you select. To calculate the number of days it will take to receive your order, consider the number of days it will take us to process and pack your order, plus the number of days it will take the delivery service to handle your order. The availability of each item is clearly labeled throughout the Booksamillion.com site. You'll find that many items are labeled "In Stock," which means that your order will generally be processed and ready to ship one business day after being placed.

For example, if you ordered an "In Stock" book and selected Next Day Air shipping, your total delivery time would be 2-3 business days (1 to 2 business day(s) to process, plus 1 business day of shipping time).

Larger orders may require additonal processing time, and you may want to call us at (800) 201-3550 to check quantity availability before you order. The number of days required for shipping also depends on the shipping method you select.

What is the return policy?

Booksamillion.com guarantees your satisfaction and offers you returns within 30 days of order receipt on most items*. Upon receipt of the returned items, your refund will be issued to the credit card used. If you paid by check, you will be issued a merchandise credit, and if you used a gift card to make your purchase, credit will be issued back to the gift card. We do not issue refund checks. How will an Advance Order item affect the rest of my order?

Booksamillion.com allows you to reserve selected titles that have not yet been published. Each Advance Order item is shipped when it is released by the publisher, and in many cases you will receive the item in a separate package on the same day you could purchase the item in a store. Advance Order items will not delay the rest of your order and will not increase your shipping cost. So, choose your shipping preference without regard to any Advance Order items that you are purchasing. There is no need to select the "ship as items become available" option.
