The alphabet has never been more fun In this highly interactive novelty book, David A. Carter's Happy Little Yellow Box peeks in and out of the alphabet, hides under flaps, goes up and down, and more From a crawling caterpillar, to a meteor flying over the moon, to a wintertime wink, this book teaches the alphabet using a delightful smiling character and engaging elements such as pull-tabs, pop-ups and other moving parts.
As Publishers Weekly said in a starred review of The Happy Little Yellow Box, "readers' smiles will match that of the box in this winning blend of minimalism, movement, and personality."

The star of Carter’s The Happy Little Yellow Box pop-up, which covered opposites, returns in a pop-up alphabet book. The smiling box appears in 3-D pop-ups, hiding behind flaps, and moving down a “slippery slide” thanks to a pull-tab. Chalklike line drawings accompany brief alliterative phrases. “G is for gracefully growing grass,” writes Carter as readers pull a tab that makes the grass appear to grow (and reveals the box’s hiding spot). After children make a meteor shoot across the sky and assist the Happy Little Yellow Box in giving them a “wintertime wink,” Carter’s character won’t be the only one smiling. Ages 3–up. (July)
