Traslers sixth board book featuring her round yellow chicks, following Bathtime for Chickies and other titles, tackles opposites. Typical pairings like in and out, up and down appear, but theres a lot more going on, toothe book is framed as a photo shoot, with the chicks playing dress-up and running around outdoors as they demonstrate the opposites. Trasler further gooses things by interrupting seemingly predictable rhymes with cameos from animals stepping in front of the camera: Chickies then. Chickies now./ Chickies dance and take a... cow! It isnt the easiest of story lines to follow, but it has energy in abundance. A free song is downloadable online. Up to age 4. Agent: Jamie Weiss Chilton, Andrea Brown Literary Agency. (Jan.)
