Overview
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. This is a dog lover's reference guide to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Examines the history, best in show, and popular culture references. Gives detailed information for the show winners from 2006 to 2010. Provides information on every show winner from 1907 to 2010. Also provides information on the most winning dog groups in order of number of wins, and the most winning dog breeds in order of number of wins. The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is a two-day, all-breed benched conformation show that takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York City every year. The first Westminster show was held on May 8, 1877, making it the second-longest continuously held sporting event in the United States behind only the Kentucky Derby, which was first held in 1875. The show originated as a show for gun dogs, primarily Setters and Pointers, initiated by a group of hunting men who met regularly at the Westminster Hotel at Irving Place and Sixteenth Street in Manhattan. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge.
