Major J Glenn Singleton survived near death experiences while an Army pilot during the Vietnam War. Escapes were often pondered as philosophical questions, or was there perhaps intervention beyond self and training. His memoirs present a host of chance meetings and unexpected opportunities that became a theme of confidence to seek advancement. Soon by approval of requested assignments or by orders of change, or was if life was guided to realize his dreams of becoming an army pilot. His inspirational autobiography is woven with the threads of his love for aviation and his documented historical experiences in Vietnam. His journey details: The Vietnam military challenge which was later termed LBJ's "useless war." The first ever AIR MOBILITY UNITS to be used in land based war strategies which provided a non-frontal war zone support for US Special Forces and essential combat units at scattered locations. Tales of the Army CV-2 Caribou (the robust and agile aircraft) that became the "workhorse" of Air Mobility support across South Vietnam. The CV-2 Caribou was the latest and the largest Army transport plane of the 1960's enabling STOL techniques (short take offs and landings). The iconic UH-1 Huey helicopter and its dominant aviation role in Vietnam. Unparalleled in its progressiveness in Army Air Mobility. Major Singleton's military career spanned 20 years with war zone flight periods where he accumulated 496 first pilot combat flight hours, receiving the Bronze star Medal 3 times, the Meritorious service medal, numerous Air Medals for 1st and 2nd tours in Vietnam, the Air Force and Army Commendation medals, along with numerous other Aviation service awards. In September 1970 with 2000 incident free flight hours he received his Senior Pilot wings.
