Reviews:
"Gomez-Rejon worked as a personal assistant to both Martin Scorsese and BIRDMAN Oscar winner Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, and he attacks this material with cameras blazing." - 06/11/2015 Los Angeles Times

"A calling card film if ever there was one, Alfonso Gomez-Rejon’s ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL applies the off-beat camerawork and meta-movie high jinks of his not-quite-remake of The Town That Dreaded Sundown to a geek coming-of-age story." - 06/11/2015 A.V. Club

4 stars out of 4 -- "Here is a film with no wasted characters, no wasted scenes. Yes, it’s fanciful and arch and indie-creative, but every inch of it feels real." - 06/11/2015 Chicago Sun-Times

"It has its quirks and improbabilities, but its sensibility is earnest and earthbound..." - 06/12/2015 New York Times

4 stars out of 5 -- "When ME AND EARL makes us feel something, it rejects shorthand and points to the hidden lives behind surface sentiments." - 08/31/2015 Total Film

4 stars out of 5 -- "Sweet but cool, funny and touching, ME AND EARL… does it all. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry..." - 09/04/2015 Empire
