Readers are introduced to a cast of colorful patchwork bears with various touch-and-feel characteristics--imagine the Grateful Dead's dancing bears, but even trippier--as Love Bear searches for his eponymous friend. Traveling through Britto's boldly outlined neon world, children can feel the fuzzy blue feet of Cuddly Bear or lift a masquerade-style mask to reveal Fun Bear's purple eyes. The simple rhymes, bright colors, and search-and-find spreads should hold readers' interest in what is otherwise a very straightforward adventure. Ages 2–5. (Oct.)
