GIGI was added to the Library of Congress National Film Registry in 1991. Song composer Frederick Loewe, screenwriter-lyricist Alan Jay Lerner, and production designer Cecil Beaton, who collaborated on the 1956 Broadway production of "My Fair Lady" went on the work together again on "Gigi."
