More About The House of Mirth (Illustrated by A.B. Wenzell) by Edith Wharton

Overview
Edith Wharton an American novelist, short story writer, and designer. She is a Pulitzer Prize winner and was nominated twice for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Her insider's view of America's privileged classes combined with her wit and writing skills produced a number of novels and short stories of social and psychological insight. Often compared to "The Great Gatsby," "The House of Mirth" tells the story of Lily Bart, a well-born, but penniless woman of the high society, against the background of upper class New York City of the 1890s. The novel has been adapted to radio, the stage and the cinema, including a play written by Edith Wharton and Clyde Fitch. Additional adaptations include, among others, a French silent movie ("La Maison du Brouillard"), and a production on radio's Theatre Guild. This edition is unique as it includes all the illustrations by A.B. Wenzell that appeared in the printed edition published by CHARLES SCRIBNER'S SONS, New York, 1905.
