Overview

Raised in the Bronx, Katerina Alexander rises quickly to the top of the world of international haute couture fashion with her gay best friend, Destiny Fairchild, but she remains secretly plagued by the sexual bullying she has undergone as a teen and by her fear that the magnetic sensuality of her own body is out of control.

Destiny, on the other hand, has few such inhibitions, but like Kat, she too is seeking an ideal mate. Kat eventually takes up with a fashion icon, the head of the House of Moreau, because he is an older, "safe" man, but she remains tormented by his ne'er-do-well half-brother.

Katerina and Destiny ultimately arrive at the altar, in a double marriage ceremony high above the bay of Monaco, to affirm that regardless of gender, age or sexual orientation, true love ultimately comes from the soul.
