There’s no bad time to be thankful, and this board book addition to Soman and Davis’s ever-growing series is applicable any time of year as it catalogues things their heroine—clad, as always, in her recognizable ladybug outfit—thinks highly of. (The closest the book comes to getting season-specific is when readers learn that “Ladybug Girl is thankful for the pumpkin from the garden. ‘Pumpkin pie is yummy’ ”). Friends, family, books, trees, and Bingo the dog are the other recipients of Ladybug Girl’s thankfulness, and both the understated text and quietly evocative art capture the kinds of everyday family moments worth noticing—and appreciating. Ages 2–5. (Oct.)
