This absorbing workbook compiles three-dimensional dioramas from previous Look-Alikes titles, which substitute unlikely, common objects for similar-looking items (an oven mitt becomes a chair, a spiral notebook the roof of a house). In this outing, however, in addition to spotting specific Look-Alikes, kids are invited to find differences between seemingly identical scenes. At the zoo, a visitor's sweater is brown in one version, and green in the next, and a school bus in one tableau is labeled a "cool bus" in its match. Tater tots masquerade as hay bales at a farm, and in another scene, binoculars serve as an astronaut's rocket jets. The seek-and-find aspect brings new dimension to the late Steiner's captivating microcosms, which remain as whimsical and enchanting as ever. All ages. (July)
