Heim makes a promising picture book debut with a buoyant story that follows a father pig and his daughter through a busy day of activities. "When I say Swing me,' you say high.'/ Swing me' high.' Swing me' high!' " reads a typical passage. Heim's rhymes never miss a beat as the pigs prepare meals, ride bicycles, play games, and more on as they eventually make their way to bedtime. Coburn's jaunty cartoons are spiked with bright pinks and greens, bringing effervescent energy to every vignette, and her use of speech bubbles emphasizes the call-and-answer aspect of Heim's storytelling. It's a fun-to-read portrait of a warm father-daughter relationship, with plenty of enticing details for children to pore over. Ages 48. (Dec.)
