Overview

They called him "Mean Wile" at school. It was widely known that he was a few cards short of a full deck and no one messed with him for fear of physical harm.

Ed liked it that way. Raised in decrepit apartments by a workaholic, single mother, he rarely saw his father. His loving grandmother reached out to him but couldn't keep him on the straight and narrow. Anger raged inside him.

Ed believed that his future lay in the Rubbermaid factory in his hometown of Wooster, Ohio. But despite his bad reputation, Ed was a star athlete, and a high school coach convinced him to attend college and play football.

In college, Ed continued his damaging ways. He excelled on the football field but failed everywhere else-until a harrowing incident jolted him off his destructive path.

After graduating from college, Ed married a beautiful young woman and began working for his father-in-law's business. Life was rosy until a toxic brew of alcohol and violence nearly ruined his marriage and his career prospects.

Find out how Ed overcame his demons and other obstacles to succeed as a husband, father and leader in this touching, inspirational memoir.
