As one of the biggest hits of the late 1950s, CBS's PHIL SILVERS SHOW starred the titular bespectacled comedian as Master Sergeant Ernie Bilko, a military man stationed at apocryphal Fort Baxter, Kansas, and devoted to nearly endless hijinks; Bilko's favorite activities included gambling; outwitting his superior, Colonel Hall (Paul Ford); and cooking up various get-rich-quick schemes. This set presents the entire first season of SILVERS, with all 33 episodes as they originally aired between September of 1955 and May of 1956. Special features include THE LOST AUDITION SHOW, the original network opening, audio commentaries and more.
