But what is even worse, in Regie's mind, is the fact that his personal life is mimicking his fiction-in the worst possible way. Excerpt: It was the girl from across the street. Her eyes compelled him so strongly that Regie could not look away. Her hand rose and her index finger beckoned him to join her outside. Then she was gone. Regie left his room like a sleepwalker. An afterimage of her beguiling face haunted him as he moved through the family room and unlatched the sliding glass door.
