Overview
Coming in August 2013, the brand-new Red Tractors 1958-2013 offers an unparalleled look at International Harvester and Case IH tractors built from 1958 to 2013. With 384 pages and more than 700 images, this obsessively researched book includes fresh information from engineers and executives who created the machines built in America and abroad. Images include never-before-seen concept drawings, prototype and archival images, and new photographs of restored as well as original condition models taken by photographer Lee Klancher.

The book covers how International Harvester (IH) and Farmall tractors of the 1960s to the 1980s were designed and constructed. It also recounts the dramatic transformation undergone by IH, ultimately leading to the Case IH merger and the creation of the Magnum, the red tractor that changed the industry and saved the company. Modern Case IH tractors are covered up to the present day, including the story behind the creation of the Quadtrac as well as the beautifully designed MX series Magnums.

With contributions from the likes of Gregg Montgomery, the industrial designer who sketched design drawings for IH and Case IH tractors for decades, and Dr. Glenn W. Kahle, the engineer who oversaw the introduction of the 50 series as well as the creation of the Magnum, this oversized 384-page book provides an unprecedented look at the red tractors of the past 50 years.
