More About Final Cut Pro X for iMovie and Final Cut Express Users by Tom Wolsky

Overview
iMovie is Apple's low-end video editing software that comes preinstalled on every Mac computer (75m). Of those 75m Mac users, it is thought that roughly half of them are iMovie users. Some are creating corporate video, some are putting together home-made family movies, some are creating short movies and then posting them to Youtube. The new version of Apple's pro-level editing software, Final Cut Pro X, with a userbase of two million, shipped in June. This new version is available at a quarter of the price of past versions, and newly available as a standalone application. The UI is nearly identical to that of iMovie, and some of iMovie's more intuitive features have been moved to Final Cut Pro X as well. iMovie users, many frustrated by the lack of power in that application, have now seen two of the most prohibitive barriers (price, ease of use) to Final Cut Pro removed, and are making the move from iMovie to Final Cut Pro X in droves. This is the only guide to help them on their journey. Veteran author and preeminent Apple trainer Tom Wolsky walks them through the similarities and differences between each of the three applications, and how they can successfully navigate their migration from one to the other. The book features a 4-color insert, as well as a companion site with project files, evolving updates and video tutorials.
