Eden follows 2010's Eternal Hunter with another sexy, fast-paced paranormal romance. Seeking vengeance for the gruesome death of her family, Sandra "Dee" Daniels works for Baton Rouge's Night Watch, bounty hunters who bring down dangerous supernaturals. Simon Chase seems to be an innocent passerby who saves Dee when a stranger tries to shoot her, but he keeps showing up as Dee works to uncover a Born Master, a natural-born vampire more powerful than any Taken human. When Dee is set up for a murder charge, Simon joins her on the run and admits he's a vampire himself. She gets a bigger shock when she dies and rises as the newest Born Master. Dee's strength is undermined by Simon's habit of rescuing her, and the sexual chemistry is lacking, but the raw, thriller-style writing is solid and the total package is an enjoyable read.
