First impressions aren't everything, because if they were, I wouldn't have finished this book. Within the first few pages, I wanted to put it down because I thought it was a remake of Mean Girls and I don't care to read that. But something about the tone and April's character kept me going. Plus, I didn't want to judge the entire book on a few pages. __br__Next, I was a little baffled that April was a bra stuffer. Why? Because I don't think too many girls do that nowadays. (But, that totally means nothing when I go to a school and am surrounded by double D girls) I could definitely relate to her with that anyway because every girl has insecurities over their body. However, I couldn't relate to her with the popularity or the want to be popular. I've never really care much about the ladder of popularity nor do I usually pay that much attention to it. I have my friends and I'm satisfied. __br__April doesn't have friends since her best friend moved to Kansas and one day she is thrust into popularity with Brit-Brat aka Britney Taylor. While I couldn't relate to her with the popular stuff, I could relate to how she felt when she was about to lose a "friend". I was also able to relate to how wrapped up you can get in the game of revenge. Been there. Done that. Luckily, me and April both learned some important lessons. __br__Holder does a great job creating a light, fun, laugh out loud tone. It was easy to just sail through the book and it was great to see the characters grow. I'm excited to read more by Holder. She definitely has a writing charisma. __br__Addict's Last Words: Amy Holder's debut novel? A success. __br__To Buy or To Borrow: Gut instinct? Buy. But it could depend on the whole popular thing and if you wouldn't mind reading something like that. __br__Disclosure: A limited copy of this book was provided for me by NetGalley.com.
