Movie Reviews

Reviews:
"HOPE GAP arrives as a rare modern example of the old-school British playwright brand of cinema, in which the camera is trained obediently upon well-spoken actors as they precisely enunciate their well-wrought lines." - 09/06/2020 Hollywood Reporter

"[C]onsiderably more nuanced and mature than your typical relationship drama, it’s the story of a marriage that ended almost entirely out of the blue after the couple had been together for 29 years." - 09/06/2020 Variety

"The title was inspired by Napoleon’s invasion of -- and messy withdrawal from -- the Russian city, a subject that fascinates Nighy’s character and serves as an obvious metaphor for the destruction of his own marriage." - 03/06/2020 RogerEbert.com

3 stars out of 5 -- "[A] deeply personal project for Nicholson, who is performing an autopsy on the marriage of his own parents, with him as the son trying to be faithful and fair to both combatants." - 05/07/2020 Rolling Stone
