Notes:
If the Brothers Grimm read Darwin and wanted to break into the movie business, this might have been the screenplay they would have written. Basically a fairy tale narrative with lots of cartoonish action and special effects. It does add a different wrinkle to the latest controversies in dinosaur scholarship, however. The Goombas are sort of cute (especially when they dance). And Dennis Hopper, as the pretender to the lizard throne, gets to chew up the scenery. Rated BBFC PG by the British Board of Film Classification.

"...[Fiona Shaw] is an impressive, larger-than-life villainess..." - 06/07/1983 Variety
