In 1946 Hank, together with his parents, moved to Los Angeles. In 1952 he graduated from the University of Southern California receiving a degree in cinema. During the Korean Conflict he served with the 82nd Paratroopers Battalion at Fort Bragg, North Carolina in their Military Intelligence Unit. In 1954 Hank began working at MGM Studios in Culver City, California culminating a 40-year career with an Oscar nomination for producing Dangerous Liaisons.
