Carol's Song : Holistic Christian Living -- 25 Inspiring Stories
Overview
The purpose of this book is to serve as a companion to my book Beyond Babel by providing examples of men and women who built and led organizations based on a Christian worldview. My personal conviction is that the God revealed in the Bible, as historically understood by the Christian church, is the Creator of the universe and the transcendent reference point to define truth and reality. Furthermore, my view presumes that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God. It is the book of books and the most reliable guidebook for all human endeavors. The starting point for understanding everything in the universe, to the measure that mankind has grace to understand, is the singular triune God as revealed in the Bible (Scripture). Therefore, to live meaningful lives and build organizations that glorify God, the Scripture must form the foundation for all philosophy, values, principles, and practices. This is the sense in which I use the term Christian worldview. There are many stories of people who predicated their lives on this perspective. This book provides examples of such people. Some of the protagonists were vocal about their Christian faith while others were not. Some were profound thinkers who developed much wisdom while others were not. Some were keenly aware of the biblical foundation of their worldview while others were not. But all were committed to the principles that emanate from Scripture to the degree that they understood the truth. All faced challenges and hardships. They fought daily battles just like everyone else. Their anchor was the principles of Scripture that they, either wittingly or unwittingly, embraced. Regardless of the obstacles, they stood tenaciously on Christian principles.
