In the darkness of the unknown we find the knowledge of what we've lost or gained in life. Our time with the ones we hold dear to our heart is short. Searching for answers about them may not be fruitful with joy, and opening up the closet of family secrets can close the door to respect. Darlene Mathews became the beginning of this writer's journey. This search/journey hasn't ended with in these lines of ink. Deep down in the depths of what was called," The Bottoms", in Georgia by some. The bottoms are the lowest pits at the end of a trail in what is southern Georgia. Darlene and her family of fourteen siblings and parents who were farmers from the old south made up her family. Darlene was considered the baby of the group and to some of her siblings she was the wildest of the Mathew clan.........
