A young Jewish boy recalls life in Hitler's Germany. First his family is forced out of their home in Frankfort and sent on a long journey to the Lodz ghetto in Poland, and then to Auschwitz--the Nazi death camp. Although Daniel is af ictitious character, his story was inspired by the real experiences of many of the more than one million children who died in the Holocaust. This book was written in conjunction with an exhibit called "Daniel's Story: Remember the Children" at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.
