Nan McBride, the fourteen-year-old daughter of the President of the United States, is livid. Nan loves Irish dance and is good at it. In fact, she has qualified for the national championships held right in Washington, D.C. on July 4. But President McBride has forbidden Nan's participation, suggesting that she would be a security risk, a perfect target for terrorists. Nan, however, is determined to fulfill her dream of dancing at nationals, and schemes with her brother Tyler to find a way past the complex array of Secret Service agents and electronic monitors that make up the security system.
