Movie Reviews

Synopsis:
In a futuristic world, the Western Nations of the Earth secretly launch a space rocket to explore a mysterious planet revolving around the sun. The flight appears to run smoothly until a premature crash-landing forces the astronauts out of their chemically-induced sleep. Awake and disoriented, the astronauts attempt to complete their exploration, and are shocked to discover that this strange planet could be the Earth's mirror image -- they even find their own doubles. But when they return home, what they find is even worse....

Notes:
Filmed in Technicolor.

Reviews:
"[T]he film's simple, lunatic conceit is intriguing, and Wymark in particular wrings his exposition-heavy scenes for every last drop of dramatic juice." - 10/01/2008 Sight and Sound, p.97
