Reviews:
"...An ideal rental for the legions of kids..." -- Rating: B+ - 12/20/1996 Entertainment Weekly, p.84
"...A delightfully twisted fairy tale that artfully juggles broad tom-foolery and sly drollery, along with a generous serving of sight gags enhanced by special effects..." - 08/05/1996 Variety
"...Darkly comic....MATILDA doesn't condescend to children, it doesn't sentimentalize, and as a result it feels heartfelt and sincere. It's funny too..." - 08/02/1996 Chicago Sun-Times, p.33
