Reviews:
"[A]nn engaging reshaping of Hamlet in which the prince’s lady love takes center stage....This vigorous, colorful and clever melodrama smartly rethinks both the play and the character, making her a far more proactive figure than Shakespeare did in addition to entirely reimagining her fate." - 01/23/2019 Hollywood Reporter

"Ridley looks the part -- she’s a dead-ringer for John Everett Millais’ classic portrait of Ophelia." - 06/23/2018 Variety

3.5 stars out of 4 -- "Ridley brings the same verve and sincerity to Ophelia that she does to Rey in STAR WARS, and Watts shows us Gertrude’s desperation and vanity." - 06/28/2019 RogerEbert.com

"The movie sounds and looks good....This is instead Ophelia as a 21st-century heroine, who after a smudge-faced childhood running wild in her king’s castle -- and being excluded from studying with the boys -- grows into a woman with desires, ambitions and a pronounced rebellious streak." - 06/27/2019 New York Times

"[B]eautifully photographed and impressively staged...the title character moves from the supporting ranks and takes center stage." - 07/04/2019 Chicago Sun-Times
