"[Minghella] does a slick, proficient job of staging a youth-trance fable..." - 09/08/2019 Variety

"Max Minghella, in a more than promising debut behind the camera, has a flair for dazzling detours and actions that define character." - 04/09/2019 Rolling Stone

3 stars out of 4 -- "[Minghella] proves himself to be a canny storyteller, with a flair for spinning a yarn that is at once slick and more than slightly eccentric, simply because the story withholds as much as it reveals." Washington Post

"TEEN SPIRIT, Max Minghella’s sweet and touching directing debut, is both proudly clichéd and refreshingly different." - 04/11/2019 New York Times
