Ulysses
by James Joyce

Overview -
What We're Reading Now:
The use of the language and narrative in Ulysses was incredibly unique. The story takes place over a span of 24 hours in Dublin. James Joyce uses employs stream of consciousness to align his characters' thoughts with their actions, and it is often difficult to distinguish between the two. I would recommend this book because it forces your mind to think in a new way and to view the world and your own thoughts in a new light. Also, if you are a fan of Homer's Odyssey, Joyce's Ulysses echoes many of the classic epic's themes.
