He is a professor in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences in Zhejiang, specializing in the teaching and research of classical Chinese literature. He has proofread and punctuated Zhang Dai's Kuai Yuan Dao Gu (Zhejiang Ancient Books Publishing House, 1986) and the classical Chinese novel The Complete Story of Han Xiangzi (Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House, 1990), among other works. His published monographs include A Study of the Yuezhong School of Drama (China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Publishing House, 2000), Zhang Dai's Family Background (Beijing Publishing House, 2004), and A Concise History of Zhejiang Culture (People's Publishing House, 2006).
