Movie Reviews
Reviews:
"[Demange] does a fine job re-creating time and place, and the film has a gritty texture." - 09/03/2018 Hollywood Reporter
"The standout turn here is Merritt’s, projecting both the streetwise toughness that attracted the authorities and the kind of determination that, under different social circumstances, might have allowed for Rick to find a legitimate path to a better life." - 08/31/2018 Variety
"Newcomer Merritt plays Rick as both a naive boy who pretends to act tough but wants to do the right thing. There’s a clueless innocence in his performance that paints him not as a psychopathic delinquent but as one who believes drug dealing as a way to help his family." - 09/14/2018 RogerEbert.com
"Even in the well-trod genre that is the ’80s drug movie, the true-life story of teen drug kingpin Ricky Wershe Jr., a.k.a. White Boy Rick, stands out..." - 09/12/2018 Los Angeles Times
