"[T]horoughly entertaining....Filled with well-executed visual gags..." - 03/23/2019 Hollywood Reporter

"Zachary Levi brings off something so winning it’s irresistible. He plays a square-jawed, rippling-muscled man of might, with a cheesy Day-Glo lighting bolt affixed to his chest, who projects an insanely wholesome and old-fashioned idea of what a superhero can be." - 03/23/2019 Variety

"What is often the most businesslike part of a superhero origin story -- establishing the hero’s powers -- ends up becoming the most entertaining part of Shazam!, carried along by Levi’s fidgety, boyish charm." - 03/23/2019 A.V. Club

4 stars out of 5 -- "There’s a wide-eyed sense of fun that runs through the entirety of SHAZAM!" - 03/21/2019 Total Film

3 stars out of 4 -- "[T]here's a certain magic in this BIG-meets-Superman affair where an ancient wizard transforms a troubled teenager into a buff, god-like guy with a light-up suit." - 03/23/2019 USA Today

4 stars out of 5 -- "[O]ne of the wryest takes of the film is that Levi’s broad-chested, super-powered Billy is free to act more like a kid than Asher’s driven, guarded teenage reading of the role." - 03/23/2019 Empire

"[T]here’s a fair share of fun to be had with SHAZAM! as a comedy about superhero growing pains from a comic book company also figuring itself out cinematically." - 04/05/2019

4 stars out of 5 -- "[T]his breezy, funny entry keeps things light with a hilarious and heartfelt package of nonstop kid-friendly kick-ass." - 04/01/2019 Rolling Stone
