But the paradox is that the Lebanese themselves, Christians and Muslims among whom the epidemic of division is spreading, are fully aware of their shared identity. Accordingly, the author-reference Kamal Salibi, through this work, reexamines the historical myths that the conflicting factions in his country have taken as a foundation for building various conflicting visions of the Lebanese state.
