Moreover, this work stands as an extension of Mediterranean Civilizational Exchange Studies, which has been recognized as a theoretical foundation for understanding exchanges within Mediterranean civilizations. It was developed by the Institute for Mediterranean Studies at Busan University of Foreign Studies as part of the Humanities Korea (HK) Project supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea. Furthermore, with the continued support of the Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) Project, this dictionary was planned as a foundational effort to systematically establish the framework for studying the phenomena of Mediterranean civilizational exchange, thereby deepening its academic significance.As has always been the case, the project has remained cautious of Eurocentric perspectives and has instead dedicated itself to producing discourse on Mediterranean civilizational exchange grounded in a more global viewpoint.
