Updated as of May 29, 2018 The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is taking direct final action to approve two State Implementation Plan (SIP) submissions from the State of Nebraska. EPA is approving elements of a SIP submission from the State of Nebraska that addresses the applicable requirements of the Clean Air Act (CAA) section 110 for the 2008 National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for Lead (Pb). Section 110(a) of the CAA requires that each state adopt and submit a SIP to support implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of each new or revised NAAQS promulgated by EPA. These SIPs are commonly referred to as "infrastructure" SIPs. The infrastructure requirements are designed to ensure that the structural components of each state's air quality management program are adequate to meet the state's responsibilities under the CAA.
