Movie Reviews

Reviews:
"[T]hroughout its first two acts, BANDSLAM is charming, sweet, and funny..." -- Grade: B- - 08/13/2009 A.V. Club

"[A]s the movie's sweet, geeky hero, newcomer Gaelan Connell excels in wry conversations with the always-welcome Lisa Kudrow, who plays his loving mother." -- Grade: B - 08/21/2009 Entertainment Weekly

"The payoffs are in the details....This one feels both morally uplifting and a teensy bit realistic, lived-in -- neither heavily reliant on glib pop-cult references nor so sanitized that we don't believe in the people." - 08/14/2009 Los Angeles Times

3 stars out of 4 -- "Both Aly Michalka and Vanessa Hudgens are musicians, which makes the rehearsal and performance segments convincing....It's charming..." - 08/13/2009 Chicago Sun-Times

"Tidy, heartfelt direction by Todd Graff; astute song references; and a David Bowie cameo transcend the formula underpinnings and keep BANDSLAM buoyant, gratifying and, yes, rocking." - 08/14/2009 New York Times
