Black Web
Overview
Keller Lake has gone silent. Three trappers have disappeared in the remote Canadian wilderness. The people stationed at an isolated forest-seed facility have stopped answering their radios. The conservation officer sent to investigate has vanished. His partner returns with one thing from Keller Lake: a specimen sealed inside a steel case. Entomologist Dr. Tessa Ward has spent her career studying dangerous species. What she finds inside that case sends her into the quarantine zone with Nora Vale and Black Pine Search and Rescue, searching for survivors in a settlement that has fallen eerily quiet. Abandoned buildings stand beneath the trees. Strange webs stretch through the forest. Somewhere inside Keller Lake, people are still missing. Then Tessa discovers what is living there; a species of spider not seen before. And the spiders are communicating and coordinating; they're learning. And with every step the rescue team takes deeper into Keller Lake, the web closes around them. From Shigeru Brody comes BLACK WEB, the sixth novel in the Black Pine Rescue series: a relentless creature-horror thriller about a rescue mission gone horribly wrong and a species that has survived unseen for a very long time.
