Bloodbourne : Genesis of the End
Overview
A commercial airliner lands at JFK beneath a rain-black sky.
Every passenger is dead.
Their blood has hardened inside their bodies, their veins have turned black, and an ancient symbol has been carved into the aircraft's hidden cargo. Only one man remains alive-and he is no longer entirely human.
When virologist Dr. Mei Lin discovers that the catastrophe is not a natural outbreak, New York is sealed behind military barricades. Hospitals become execution sites. The dead awaken under fluorescent lights. In the darkness, a new species begins to hunt.
The disaster was engineered by Dr. Victor Draaven, a radical scientist descended from an ancient Carpathian blood cult. Convinced that humanity is weak, temporary, and unworthy of survival, Draaven intends to activate the Vesper Reliquary buried beneath Manhattan and transform millions into the Nightborn.
With her daughter trapped inside the quarantine zone, Mei joins a haunted firefighter, a streetwise smuggler, a disgraced journalist, a priest struggling with his faith, and the sole conscious survivor of the ghost flight. Together, they must cross a collapsing city where the infected are not always monsters-and the authorities may be more dangerous than the disease.
As midnight approaches, Mei faces an impossible choice: destroy everyone carrying the altered blood or unleash an imperfect countermeasure that may preserve their minds while changing their bodies forever.
Humanity is bleeding.
Evolution has found the wound.
And the end is only the beginning.
