Movie Reviews

"Hardy gives an utterly convincing performance, and as a piece of filmmaking, BRONSON is undeniably well shot and well edited." - 01/22/2009 Hollywood Reporter

4 stars out of 5 -- "Bronson's closest cousin is Malcolm McDowell's Alex in A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. Like Kubrick's anti-hero, Bronson inspires equal reactions of fascination and revulsion." - 04/01/2009 Total Film

"Refn's visual strategy reinforces both physical claustrophobia and mental closure....Not since A CLOCKWORK ORANGE has the aura of brutality been accompanied by such shrewd musical selections..." - 09/01/2009 Film Comment

3 stars out of 5 -- "BRONSON is a stridently static film with an amazingly fluid performance at its center." - 10/08/2009 Box Office

"A fearless, indelible lead performance by Tom Hardy propels the wildly riveting BRONSON, the harsh true story of perhaps Britain's most notorious prisoner..." - 10/16/2009 Los Angeles Times

"For his movie BRONSON, director Nicolas Winding Refn turns Petersen's life story into a pensive, Kubrickian study of anti-social behavior." -- Grade: B+ - 10/08/2009 A.V. Club

"[T]old with a CLOCKWORK ORANGE-in-the-cuckoo's-nest jauntiness." - 10/16/2009 Entertainment Weekly

3 stars out of 4 -- "Tom Hardy is pure dynamite in the role....This movie and Hardy's electrifying performance will knock you for a loop." - 10/29/2009 Rolling Stone
