CISM Practice Questions : Practice questions with full rationales, sized to the published domain weights
Overview
The day you pay ISACA, a six-month clock starts.
Sit the exam inside it or the fee is gone, and the same happens if you miss the appointment or arrive more than 15 minutes late. That fee is US$575 for members and US$760 for everyone else. Work these 200 questions before you pay, so the clock starts when you are ready.
What's inside these CISM practice tests- 200 questions, each a stem and four options, like the real paper
- Information Security Governance (17%): 34 questions
- Information Security Risk Management (20%): 40
- Information Security Program (33%): 66
- Incident Management (30%): 60
- A rationale for every answer: why the right one is right, and why the tempting wrong options fail
- Wrong options a candidate who half knows the material would pick
Yes. ISACA publishes the percentages, and the counts are this book's arithmetic on them, since ISACA does not publish a count per domain. The book follows the CISM Certified Information Security Manager outline effective 2022, in Candidate Guide version 1.26.
What does the ISACA CISM exam look like on the day?150 questions in four hours. Each has a stem and four options, and you choose the correct or best one. Some questions hang off a short scenario and ask two or more questions about it.
Are these real CISM exam questions? No. Every question was written for this book. Anyone selling real exam content either obtained it without permission or does not have it.
How do I work these CISM practice exams?Work a whole section without looking, mark it, then read every rationale, including the ones you got right. If you catch yourself guessing by letter, go back to the guide, not on to the next question.
Is this a CISM book for learning the material from scratch? No, it is the practice half of a pair. The teaching is in CISM Exam Guide: 12 chapters across the same four domains, 8 of them on the program and incident management.
Do all 150 questions on the real exam count? No. The paper includes pretest items that are not scored, and ISACA does not say how many. You cannot tell which they are, so treat every question as live.
What score passes?450 on a scale of 200 to 800. ISACA does not publish how raw scores convert, so no book can give you a target percentage.
Should I guess when I do not know?On the real exam, yes. ISACA does not penalize wrong answers and scores only the number you get right, so leave nothing blank.
How soon after paying can I sit it?You can book a slot as early as 48 hours after payment. Appointments open only 90 days in advance, and one six-month extension costs US$75.
Can I use a calculator or scrap paper? No. Calculators, paper, notes and notepads are all on ISACA's prohibited list.
What happens at a remote check-in?A room scan of the walls, desk and floor to ceiling, then a mirror check. The exam is closed book, and you cannot eat, drink or look away from the screen.
What if something goes wrong on exam day?Contact ISACA support within 48 hours of finishing. ISACA reviews exam day and site concerns before it releases the official score.
About this bookTheo Marchetti writes on information security and audit credentials for Credential Press. The questions are written from ISACA's own published material. It does not promise a pass. Credential Press is independent of ISACA.
