Music Reviews
Editorial Reviews
Spin (p.88) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "This entrancing Norwegian singer-songwriter evokes a haunted Dolly Parton minus the drawl. Her songs can be simply devastating, and at other times, oddly reassuring."
CMJ - "The album's sound is sparse, cool and clean, its crisp acoustic guitars and haunting strings building a hushed explosion of power."
Blender (Magazine) (p.62) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "[H]er acoustic-guitar picking and minor-mode tunes are closer to Nick Drake than to ABBA, and just as heartbreaking."
Paste (magazine) (p.54) - "Love is a supremely destructive force in Ane Brun's songs....It's a fitting subject for the Scandinavian singer/songwriter, whose voice can be as tender as a bruise or as sharp as blame."
