Educated in engineering and law, he could have pursued a career as a civil servant. However, the suffering of his people stirred a different calling and sentiment within Zohrab, guiding him toward a path that, though rugged and unconventional, was uniquely beautiful-the path of a militant writer and a humanist author. Mu Azhen holds a Ph.D. in Russian Language and Literature from Shanghai International Studies University and is currently a lecturer in the Russian Department at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. Her research interests include Armenian literature and Russian literature. Among her representative translations is Man, Be Patient: Contemporary Armenian Fiction (1991-2016).
