The main thing I wanted to put in this note, as it's now 2023 and I want to have a properly established record of my thoughts as they stand just now, is that I fully understand that this collection of words, that has been spilt from my mind each day over the years in a very cathartic manner, isn't exactly the output I thought I would be happy with as the aim should always be to release your best work (or so they say anyway). That is what makes me feel good about myself and helps me keep going, and if there isn't a genre that covers this, then there should be...and it should be called Catharticism; basically, the act of creating is the main goal rather than the output (which of course I still want to be as good as I can make it...but it's not my main drive).", "item_img_path" : "https://covers4.booksamillion.com/covers/bam/1/44/753/267/1447532678_b.jpg", "price_data" : { "retail_price" : "14.99", "online_price" : "14.99", "our_price" : "14.99", "club_price" : "14.99", "savings_pct" : "0", "savings_amt" : "0.00", "club_savings_pct" : "0", "club_savings_amt" : "0.00", "discount_pct" : "10", "store_price" : "" } }

Overview

The majority of this work was originally mashed down before, during and quite a bit after 2008 and, although at the time I thought I was very much getting the hang of writing, upon reading these, it turns out I was not...not in the way I like writing now; which is probably just the same as it was I think. So, I have had a crack at developing these a bit further, splitting some up and turning stanzas into full pieces with slightly more relevance to really nothing at all, but entirely relevant at the same time...some I have left in their original form as I liked them just the way they were as I can remember writing them which made me smile. The results are that they may actually be worse now...in a "proper" poetic sense anyway, as they all more or less read like they've been taken from a madman's diary and then bastardised into further gibberish. I guess that's not that far from the truth. The main thing I wanted to put in this note, as it's now 2023 and I want to have a properly established record of my thoughts as they stand just now, is that I fully understand that this collection of words, that has been spilt from my mind each day over the years in a very cathartic manner, isn't exactly the output I thought I would be happy with as the aim should always be to release your best work (or so "they" say anyway). For me though, going through all these again, I realised two things...firstly, this was my best work at the time, and secondly, what I truly enjoy is the act of creating. That is the main goal. That is what makes me feel good about myself and helps me keep going, and if there isn't a genre that covers this, then there should be...and it should be called Catharticism; basically, the act of creating is the main goal rather than the output (which of course I still want to be as good as I can make it...but it's not my main drive).
