Movie Reviews

Synopsis:
An adaptation by Harold Pinter of Ian McEwan's novel. To many, Venice is a city made for lovers. To the characters in "The Comfort of Strangers," the location's romantic image simply disguises bizarre activities. Indifferent lovers Colin and Mary travel to the famed Italian hot spot to rekindle their love. As their emotionally icy relationship shows signs of thawing, the couple meets another duo: Robert and Caroline. Little do Colin and Mary realize, Robert and Caroline have been following them, with the most sinister plans in mind.

Notes:
Shown at the Cannes Film Festival (out of competition) May 20, 1990. Additional cast: Manfredi Aliquo, Giancarlo Previati, Antonio Serrano, and Mario Cotone.
