Despite his boredom, he resists when he's gifted a metal detector to help pass the time, fearing being labeled as one of those weirdos trooping up and down the beach in search of treasure. But then, some odd things start happening around his usually sedate community, and Barney finds himself drawn into a wacky series of events involving Flamingo Pointe's colorful - sometimes crazy - cast of characters. His misadventures culminate in the complex's first ever murder mystery at the same time he's trying to straighten out his disastrous love life.Indeed, it seems this poor guy's world is spinning out of control like a Florida hurricane.
