When Ying's mother (Mandy Chong) finds birth control in her room, she forces the girl to confess her relationship with Tuck, and angrily approaches him and his mother. Ying's mother demands that Tuck pay her a large sum of money or she'll turn him in to the police for statutory rape; Tuck grudgingly agrees, even though he doesn't have the cash and he knows Ying doesn't need it. Raising the hush money pushes Tuck and his mother to the verge of ruin, and insult is added to injury when after making the payment, Ying's mother goes against her promise and tells the police about his relationship with her daughter.
