Ensuring National Ecological Security in the Context of Contemporary Global Processes
Overview
Deriving from the idea that man cannot exist without the feeling of safety, security affirms as a state that characterizes and defines human relationships. Security is a strategic objective promoted by states to protect the rights of citizens and their property. One of the basic components of a state security is the security environment, which refers to: a) quality assurance and environmental components b) public safety. Ecological security requires creating and maintaining the balance between man and nature. Civilizational development factors gave rise to a unique process called globalization, through which some events held in a certain region have repercussions in other regions of the globe. Generating operating methods and processes global negative effects of globalization on the security environment facilitates the development of global environmental problems. By irrational use of natural resources by exploitation and pollution of the environmental elements by human activities devastating environmental amplified global ecological crisis on two dimensions: 1) global warming and 2) ozone layer. To prevent worsening global environmental problems, the international community has taken steps that are found in: international environmental treaties, international conferences on environmental issues, international environmental institutions functioning. One of the successes of the international community in solving global environmental problems, is developing the concept of sustainable development.
